Presidential Elections of 2004
Throughout the history of presidential elections in the United States, there have
existed different types of issues. All the candidates running for presidency have to be
focused on all the issues because people are interested on what kind of benefits would
they get if they vote for one of the candidates. The election year of 2004, is no exception.
There are issues and problems the candidates must face and find a solution to. This is one
way to get a chance to occupy the White House. The presidential elections are very
important and they can make a tremendous change for the future of the American society.
John Kerry and George Bush are the two important men who are trying to achieve this
change. They can make this happen because they have the power. They are two men,
which from the beginning look and are very different. First and most important, they
belong to different political parties. John F. Kerry from the Democratic Party and today’s
President of the United States George W. Bush is from the Republican Party. Between
them there is a great political battle. Both of them are trying to convince people that they
are the best candidate to rule this country. They have many issues in common, however
Kerry and Bush have different opinions concerning them. One of the main issue is
abortion.
Even though abortion is a “crime”, it is becoming something very common among
young girls to have one. It cannot be justifiable, but there is an explanation why abortion
can sometimes be understandable. Abortion can be valid when girls are victims of rape
and they are not prepared to take care of a baby yet.

They are immature girls who have a great future, they still have to study, and they
have the right to have fun and much more things that have to be done.
Adolescence is the time when teenagers have lots of dreams that would like to
see them come true. Their dreams and their future cannot be lack for this simple mistake.
This is the only reason why abortion can be understandable, although it is still a crime
because they are murdering a human being. Abortion is very dangerous. You have to
think twice about it, before having one. In most of the cases abortions have risked a lot of
lives; the majority of its victims are young girls. They have been put in danger, because
abortions are not well practiced or simply because doctors do not use the right materials.
John F. Kerry, he supports abortion. “John Kerry believes that women have the right to
control their bodies, their own lives, and their own destinies…” The only persons who
have decided to have or not to have an abortion are those women who have been affected.
Women’s rights to have and abortion are something the Kerry will defend on his
campaign. On the other hand, George W. Bush is in opposition to the abortion rights.
Even though, Bush is against it, he said there would be some cases where he would
support it. “He would support (but not actively pursue) a constitutional amendment
banning abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or when the woman’s life is in
jeopardy.” George Bush is making some exception in that issues, it make wonder you so
other issues he would have exception.

Here we can see two different opinions, one is in favor of abortion and the other is
against it. By legalizing abortion the risk to prevent suicides will lower, but abortions will
increase. On the other hand, disagreeing with the right to have an abortion will increase
suicides and abortions. In both cases abortion will increase. So Kerry and Bush have to
be very careful for whatever decision they make either in favor or against abortion.
