David Rudd and Panel
Q: Safety Issues?
A: With the usage of the tiger text and alerts, the University is constantly trying the keep
the students informed of the crimes and issues happening around campus. The city police
have also agreed to have more officers on call and working on campus. Panel proposes a
certain app where the police could be notified instantly whenever a crime occurs.
Q: With the changes that the governor is making in regards to the Hope Scholarship,
what is the position of the students on this situation?
A: A bill has already been passed and goes into effect next fall, but information has not
yet been provided in depth.
Q: Scholarship changes?
A: More funds will be distributed to students that need the aid of the scholarships. This
in turn, will enable students to work less. The board is now working on a plan to balance
the funds of the scholarships to include the students with significant need.
**David Rudd will return and present a presentation on the “Scholarship Model” and
“Degree Pathway Model”
Q: Tuition Cap?
A: Held tuition flat this school year. Formula funding for the state has not been fully
funded; which depletes the availability to provide The University with its full necessities.
A plan has been set in place to commit to keeping the tuition flat; which will take roughly
a year. **Summer enrollment changes are being set. “Looking forward to providing
what students need versus what the University wants to offer”. Also, the University is
looking to stop expanding the cost of summer courses**

A: SGA will propose this issue.
Q: Why are fall courses dropped?
A: This happened due to students not paying for the course, so the teachers could not be funded
so the courses were reduced.
