MULTIPLEX DATA GATHERING PANELS
1.
Multiplex Data Gathering Panels (IMUX) shall be compatible with the existing Honeywell DPS 6,
5600 Central Facility Management system. Provide 540 IMUX's or equal.
2.
Each IMUX shall be capable of handling start/stop commands, mode changes, pulse
totalization, control point adjustments, status inputs and any intermix of analog inputs including
temperature, humidity, pressure, etc. The IMUX shall perform all analog to digital conversion
prior to transmitting data to the IDGP.
3.
IMUX panels, with or without DDC, shall provide 100% stand-alone operation with the exception
of global demand limit.
4.
All Multiplex panels and peripherals shall have 90 minutes of 100% operational battery backup
for motherboard, daughterboard and all peripheral devices including relays and transducers.
Switch to battery back up must not interrupt normal operation. All field equipment to
automatically switch between primary and secondary power sources and resume normal
operation without human intervention of any sort, regardless of length of time primary power is
lost.
5.
IMUX shall have operating software and data files stored in non-volatile memory.
6.
The IMUX shall have a minimum of 4 customer modifiable analog sensor characterization curve
linearization functions.
7.
IMUX shall have a full size NEMA 1 cabinet, dedicated power supply for Class A (Type 1)
signaling, and pushbutton lockable door. Locks shall be keyed with same lock as existing
panels.
8.
IMUX, and all other power supplies shall be modular in design - e.g. Each voltage level or each
(+/-) voltage pair to be supplied by a separate, easily replaceable plug in regulator module.
9.
Panels shall be factory fabricated of steel or aluminum. Panel shall be totally enclosed with
sturdy hinge on front door and complete with lock. All panels shall be floor or wall mounted
adjacent to system served. Mount panel in area where environmental conditions stay within the
safe operating limits of the equipment inside.
10. All IMUX's supplied with 120 volt 60 Hz A.C. shall be equipped with a heavy duty specification
grade, 20 ampere, 120 volt, grounding type, NEMA configuration 5-15, duplex convenience
receptacle for any use the owner desires.
11. All equipment AC power shall be derived from emergency power via connection to an emergency
power source if available in the building.
12. Provide a minimum of 1 spare analog input, analog output, digital input and digital output with each
IMUX panel.
13. Supply enough 540 IMUX panels to maintain a minimum of spare input/outputs. At minimum
provide 2 DI, 2 DO, 2AI and 1 AO per IMUX.

14. The IMUX shall at minimum shall be fully equipped with the following types and quantities of
input/outputs:
16 Analog Inputs (AI)
16 Digital Outputs (DO)
8 Digital Inputs (DI)
8 Digital Outputs (DO)
2 Totalizer Inputs (TI)

3.
All analog electrical signal inputs to the data gathering panels shall be 4-20 mA.
All analog electrical outputs from the data gathering panels shall be 4-20 mA.
Digital inputs and outputs to be isolated dry relay contacts unless otherwise specified and
approved by U.K. Engineering.
Provide electronic sensors
Provide electric solenoid actuators
Start-stop controls of fans and motors to be performed through the existing starters. Start-stop
relay module shall contain relays for start-stop functions at the remote point, with relays
mounted and factory wired to numbered terminal strips.
Two totalizer inputs, rate of up to 10 pulses per second and shall accumulate a minimum of
4000 pulses.
TRANSMISSION

2.
Unless otherwise written in specs, connection of any IMUX to the existing UK 5600 system shall
be done in accordance with UK FMS transmission standards and is the sole responsibility of the
installing FMS contractor.
IMUX panels connected to the 5600 (DPS-6) through dial up modems shall use Bell 212A
compatible, 2400 Baud, Auto dial and auto-answer, Hayes Compatible, and equipped with a
RS-232C interface for connection to the 560 IDGP.
