Graham Charitable Trust BURSARY APPLICATION FORM 2016 PLEASE ONLY APPLY for this bursary grant if you meet the following criteria: Your surname is Graham (or you have a parent whose surname is Graham) You are studying in Glasgow You can make a case for financial hardship/ support The Graham Trust was established by Charter from the City of Glasgow in 1759 with the original aim of "distribution to persons of the name of Graham or descendants of persons of that name such sums as they shall just requisite and to put poor boys of the name of the descendants of such persons of the name, to schools and trades in order to enable them to gain a livelihood and to be useful members of society." In 2012, The Trust was reorganised and it is now managed by Foundation Scotland. The aim of the charitable fund has been updated to provide education bursaries to students studying at higher education institutes in the Glasgow area. In keeping with the charter the fund is only open to students with the surname of Graham. The bursary fund (max award £500) is designed to support members of the Graham family who are in some way disadvantaged and require financial support to continue with their education. I enclose a copy of some identification showing that my name is Graham (birth certificate, drivers licence etc). I enclose a copy of my mother or father’s birth certificate (only for applicants whose birth name is not Graham). I enclose evidence that I am studying at a Glasgow higher or further educational institution (copy of matriculation card, or a letter on headed paper from the University or College to confirm attendance).
