Newsletter 11/8-11/13
Dear Families:
The first full week of second quarter was this past week. Students took district
benchmark exams in Language Arts, Math, and Science. The emphasis in class was on
our new Wordly Wise lesson four vocabulary, voting rights for U.S. citizens, and
exploration of the New World.
Our Wordly Wise quiz for lesson four will be on Thursday, November 12th. We will
also be presenting our Native American projects as well as learning more about the early
English settlements in America.
The class will return to our read aloud, Esperanza Rising, and discuss details and
character transformation. Additionally, we will be utilizing Ticket to Read to help build
stronger comprehension skills and Acc Math during the RTI portion of class.
Important dates to remember:
Tuesday, November 10th-Retakes for school photos and Holiday Pics (please remember
there are no retakes for holiday pics).
Wednesday, November 11th-Veteran's Day-No School.
Friday, November 20th-Last day to donate supply items for 5th grade winterfest gift
basket raffle.
Please return signed report card folders, if you have not done so already.
