Level 3 - Street Drug Presentation Project
The Task:
You are a research expert hired by the Department of Health
and Human Services to investigate the drugs available to teens
today. You will choose a particular drug to research. The
Department of Health and Human Services would like to know
the social, physical and, psychological implications of the drug
on people. After researching the information, you will be
required to make a fact-based presentation with a persuasive
position as to why NOT to use this drug. Provide charts and
pictures to represent your findings. A Weebly web page
presentation will be expected.
Areas to include in your presentation:
Title including name, topic, date, and
presenters names.
Classification of drug examples
include: stimulant, depressant, etc.
Be sure to explain why your drugs
falls into a certain category.
Slang names or street names of the
drug
Are there any short term or
immediate effects of the drug on the
body?

What happens to the person
when they take the drug?
Explain the drug reaction
within the body.
Ask 3-4 people three different
questions that relates to your drug
presentation. Examples of questions
you may ask are:
o How do you think people get
addicted to heroin?
o Everyone knows that illegal
drugs are bad for their health.
Why do you think people still
use them?
o Drugs in our community are
on an up rise. Why do you
think this is happening?
o More and more students are
having drugs confiscated
during school hours. Why do
you believe this is happening?
Are there any social consequences to
using this drug? If so, what are
they?
Are there any long-term effects on
the body? If so, what are they?
Interesting Facts. List 5 (or more)
interesting facts that you have not
talked about. The facts can be
anything you find that fascinates
you.
Are there any legal consequences to
using this drug? If so, what are
they?
Examples of legal problems may
include: domestic violence, divorce,
and child custody matters, violations
of probation from previous criminal
matters, theft, fraud, tax
evasion,assaults, etc.
Statistics or trends pertaining to this
drug.
Are there any emotional
consequences to using this drug? If
so, what are they?
Name two ways to avoid or
overcome peer pressure.
What does this drug look like?
Name three positive alternatives to
drug use.
How is it administered?
