Mrs. Bayard’s February Classroom Newsletter Things going on in the classroom I can’t believe that we are at the beginning of the third quarter. I just finished the middle of the year reading 3D testing. Many students showed growth. A huge part of the Reading 3D assessment has to deal with not only answering oral questions but also writing about the text. In an attempt to familiarize the students with the writing and raise both reading and writing scores; I am continuing to send home leveled readers and a writing assignment each week. It will be sent home on Monday and turned in of Friday. Please continue to read with your children a minimum of 20 minutes each night. Also don’t forget to use RAZ kids and/or Mobymax as these are both great resources to reinforce skills and content being taught in the classroom. Please send your child to school in a warm jacket. As long as it is not raining we will go outside for recess. Math Essentials 2. NBT.6 I can add up to four two-digit numbers using the place value strategy.
