Normally Golden Girl makes the sound /g/. In this
unit, students will learn the soft sound of g when
followed by e. The Blue Magic that Mr. E invented at
Golden Girl’s request to spotlight her good friend
Gentle Ginger the Gymnast in words such at stage and
huge. This soft sound sounds like Jumping Jim’s sound
which is /j/. We will learn about the concept of silent
d in words like badge, fudge, and judge. Dippy Duck is
sitting there quietly, watching Gentle Ginger perform
and protecting the vowels from Vowel Stealing
Robots.
Reading: We will read Tara and
Tiree,Fearless Friends We will focus on
characters, sequencing, and predicting.
Science: Weill begin our unit on bats and
make a connection to our unit on sound.
Math: Read/write numbers 0-1000, skp
counting, place value:1’s,10’s and 100’s, 3digit numbers, write numbers in expanded
form.
