November
News and Notes
This is a very exciting and busy month in third grade. We will
be studying maps in social studies and energy and resources in
science. It will be important, as always, for students to be in
school on time each day because we are using every
instructional minute available to us. Information on upcoming
units of study will be listed on my webpage.
On November 11th, our music teacher, Mr. Grivetti, will be
coordinating our Veterans’ Day assembly. Everyone is invited
to join us. If you have a family member who served, or is
serving in the armed forces, encourage them to come and
take part in the festivities.
The week of November 16th – 20th is American Education
Week. The third graders have been working hard on
researching and writing speeches for our Famous American
Wax Museum. We are inviting all parents to come to and
interact with all the students who have been working so hard
this past month on the afternoon of on Tuesday, November
17th t from 1:15 p.m.-2:00 p.m. in the PE/multipurpose room.
Parents are also invited to come and join their student for
lunch prior to the start of our museum. Our class’ lunch block
is from 11:50-12:20. Feel free to meet your student outside the
cafeteria doors! We look forward to seeing everyone there.
Thank you to everyone for finding the time in your busy
schedules to come in and discuss your child’s first quarter
progress! Report cards will be coming home on Wednesday,
November 11th. It is important to discuss the contents of the
report card with your child. You should discuss where your
child is currently and help them set goals for themselves for
the next quarter. You should also help your child come up
with strategies for in school and out of school to help them
achieve their goals. You will need to sign and return the slip.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions
about the report card or need a follow up conference.
Thank you,
Miss Bekah Strohl

November Tip
It is important for students to learn their math
facts. Students who know their addition and
subtraction facts will benefit as we prepare for our
multiplication and division units. You can practice
at home with a set of flash cards and a timer.
Email Reminder
Please don’t use email for emergencies or last minute
dismissal changes. I don’t always get these messages before
the end of the school day. Please call the school instead so
these messages are received and handled in time.
