Thursday: -Take a Practice Spelling Test Read for 15 minutes and sign reading log Reflex for 15 minutes *Reminders-Math Homework is always due by Wednesday and Reading Logs are due on Fridays. CoGAT testing is coming up in February. The CoGATs are a cognitive ability test that is taken on the computer. The test measures reasoning and problemsolving skills in three different areas: verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal. It does not show up on the report card or affect students’ final grades. This test is used later when helping to select for the gifted program in 4th grade and is only one piece of the evaluative process (many other aspects are considered). We will be going over some practice questions in class to help students prepare. Friday: Poetry Notebook comes home – read poem to family members. Math Facts: For the second quarter, students will have 4 minutes to complete 50 addition or subtraction problems to 20. Content: 2.1: The student will explain how the contributions of ancient China and Egypt have influenced the present world in terms of architecture, inventions, the calendar, and written language.
