Poetry: Imagery
Objective: Focus poetry on one central image that becomes
the theme of the work.
Task: Write a series of poems that stem from one word, a
noun, and create an image through the words used.
After working with several nouns that become images, you
will turn in a poem that you feel best encompasses the image
theme you want to express.
Your poem should:
 Be at least ten lines in length
 Create one central image
 Display specific word choice
 Demonstrate a control of several uses of imagery
Subjects (nouns) to consider:
-The town where you were born
-A time of day
-Your favorite place to visit
-A famous landmark
-Your favorite object
- Your job
-A feeling
- Your school
