LESSON TOPIC:Anicent Egypt,
Contributions of the ancient Egyptians on modern
western culture.

UNDERSTANDING GOALS (CONCEPTS):
Students will understand: Some about Egyptian
Religion, the concept of death and the afterlife,
Egyptian creation of the world, the great monuments
they have left behind, and the influences the Egyptians
have made on Western Culture.
VOCABULARY: Cataract, canopic jar,
anthropomorphic, theocracy, monotheist, daily
words during the next 3 weeks.
ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS: What connections can we
see between this culture and the great cultures we have
studied befor them.
How do these ancient peoples affect us and western
culture still today?

stges of an Egyptian funeral, Heiroglyphics
