We will be doing activities and reviews on the topics of freedom of religion, freedom of speech, rights of the accused, and rights of privacy. We will have a final lesson on the responsibilities as a citizen. Keystone Testing - 2 hour delay adjustment. BIG IDEAS: UNDERSTANDING GOALS (CONCEPTS): ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS: What are the principles behind the idea of religion freedom? What are the principles behind the idea of freedom of speech? What are the laws concerning the right to privacy? What are the rights of accused persons during the arrest process? What are the important responsibilities as a citizen and why is it so important to be active as a citizen? Students will understand: Students will understand the basic rights that are guaranteed in the Constitution regarding religion, speech, privacy, and being accused. Students will understand the vocabulary relating to these topics and how to apply them to current day situations. Students will be exposed to the responsibilities as a citizen for a wrap-up of Government. STAGE II – ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE PERFORMANCE TASK: Students will be assessed on the completion of the old vocabulary. Students will write short answer responses to the material and questions discussed and read in class. Notes completed in their composition books will be awarded points. Review participation assessed.
