Course Projects, Fall 2011
Below is a list of suggested projects for Fall quarter 2011, you are required to complete 1 of the following by December
7, 2011 (final exam day).
Research and write a 10 page paper that addresses the coming transformation from US GAAP to IFRS.
Research and write a 10 page paper that addresses the SEC’s role in US financial reporting
Research and write a 10 page paper that addresses the use of various financial instruments to hedge asset and liability
positions and how that use impacts US GAAP reporting
Any “normal” style for the paper is acceptable. At least 5 references from journals or professional standards (not
internet sites) will need to be used and referenced in the paper. This project is worth 100 points.
