#9 ART APPRECIATION Artworks done in Class Chapter 4 Color: primary colors, secondary colors, complementary colors, and The Color Wheel SUPPLIES: crayons, handouts XChapter 7 Make a contour drawing of your hand. Contour drawing is a very careful, perfect outline of the object. Concentrate on drawing exactly what you SEE, not what you THINK it should look like. Draw the hand in which you are not holding the pencil. Place this hand about one foot in front of your paper so you are not looking directly down on it. Flex the hand to be drawn so that the fingers are bent. You may not see all the fingers; draw only what you see as exactly as possible. Leave this drawing as a line drawing, no shading. SUPPLIES: paper, pencils Chapter 9 Paint a watercolor or tempera (both if there is time). Bring a picture that you would like to copy. There will be some in class to choose from also. Or: Contour a large fall leaf and watercolor it in fall colors. SUPPLIES: watercolor paper, watercolor sets, tempera sets, brushes Complete a very simple still life using soft or oil pastels. Half the class will use cool colors and half will use warm colors. SUPPLIES: construction paper, scissors, glue stick
