In groups, complete SOAPSTone strategy using the poems Woman Work and I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud, as well as poetic devices for I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud. Complete introduction of poetry assignment revealing individual conscience or the conscience of society as a whole. You have three choices: Recite selected poem and 1) analyze two of the six areas (e.g., subject, tone, purpose, etc.) identified by the SOAPSTone strategy and 2) identify at least one poetic device, or Recite your own poem and 1) analyze one of the six areas (other than speaker) identified by the SOAPSTone strategy and 2) identify at least one poetic device, or Provide written analysis of all six areas pertaining to your poem using the SOAPSTone strategy and identify at least two poetic devices used. We will choose poems by drawing names out a hat… presentations/due date for this assignment will begin on Wed., Feb. 17.
