New research programs in the next 5 years:
-We are moving from critiquing workforce development to working with the system to
systematically analyze it and help it to develop into a far more effective system than it
has been before. We are involved in day-to-day activities with the actors, building trust
and the case of the need for continuing research. This is expected to build the flow of
external funds to a variety of projects that focus on workforce issues.

science and biology, areas which some of our members are already entering, and research

interface science

-Every two years, the Center for 21st Century Studies chooses a research theme
sufficiently broad to accommodate participation from many different disciplines
-The Center will seek to organize, and fund, more of these public programs in
