What are you looking for from the IT Review process? 2. What role do you see for technology in the Chancellor's call for a renewed emphasis on funded research, extra-mural support and a diverse graduate student population? 3. What portion of the UWM curriculum do you ultimately see being supported by hybrid courses and online courses? 4. Given the departure of Dean Kelly, where will the leadership for hybrid and online courses be centered? 5. In February 2002, Provost Wanat called for a "wise use" approach to the deployment of technology on campus. In your opinion, what kind of progress has been made since then? Where would you like to see these efforts continue to develop? 6. What kinds of funding will likely be available for technology initiatives in I&MT, schools, colleges, divisions and research centers in the spring budget cycle? 7. What are the roles of the various staff in the Provost’s and Vice Chancellors' offices with respect to technology, the OIT and the ITPC? 8. A significant portion of the Educational Technology funds is providing ongoing support of previous Ed Tech initiatives. Therefore, a rather small amount is available to fund new initiatives. What do you see as the future direction of Ed Tech funds? 9. Is there a plan for developing standardized faculty annual reports that could feed into a database of activities? 10. What is the appropriate balance between centralized and decentralized/unit-level IT support and computer labs? Discussion of campus website, portal and content management - Laura Pedrick, Michael Hostad Discussion of anti-plagiarism systems - Ruth Williams and Scott Emmons on behalf of the Investigating Officers for Academic Misconduct Discussion of process for ensuring all staff and faculty have ePantherIDs Motion regarding emeritus faculty web pages proposed by Leonard Parker “The committee requests that a web site be maintained by I&MT on one of its computers for the web pages of emeritus faculty who request this service and help with the initial setup of their web pages. A link to these web pages should be provided on the UWM home page under something like "Web pages of UWM Emeritus Faculty." This hyperlink should point to a list of hyperlinks to each of the participating emeritus faculty member's web pages. If an emeritus faculty member's hyperlink receives less than 10 hits in any calendar year, then it may be deleted from the I&MT server. The number of hits each year should be accessible to the participating faculty member. The web site should be maintained by I&MT after the faculty member is deceased, as long as the emeritus faculty member's site receives at least 10 hits per year.” Next Meeting: March 11, 8:00 – 9:30 am, Regents Room - Discussion of new draft acceptable use policy - Discussion of campuswide security coordination with Chief Hoderman
