Website update:
o Maureen collaborated with a graphic designer to refresh ‘Join Us’ enrollment
thumbnail image from its previous iteration to a word cloud design.
o Twitter and Facebook icons are now prominently displayed in the website top
navbar.
o Maureen is awaiting the final decision from the Steering Committee before
revamping the Work Groups portion of the website.
o Maureen completed the template for submitting website & social media content.
Nate will send a follow up request to the Messages work group for final feedback or
changes to the social media calendar. If no one has further changes, the group will move
forward with the schedule after the end of this week.
Once the social media calendar is finalized and content is posted to social media, KC
will be able to provide analytics reporting.
Regarding a dedicated Communications position, Donna Mehrle, Steering Committee,
said that although there are no funds available at this time, MOCAN could possibly write
a grant to secure funding for such a position. This led to several comments and
questions which the Messages group will discuss in future meetings, including:
○ The requirements of the grant should include that the person hired would be
willing (& have funds) to buy media – i.e., to pay for promoted posts on social
media, to pay for statewide press releases, etc.
○ Who would we write the grant to?
■ Missouri Foundation for Health was listed as a possible grant sponsor.
■ On the possibility of a grant, Katie suggested that a dedicated person
could be a percent of an FTE. She also said that the person could be a
coordinator.
The Messages work group plans to schedule another conference call for the first week in April if
there are new updates. Otherwise, they will continue the discussion at the next quarterly
MOCAN meeting on Thursday, April 14th.
