The Clinic
• Established in 2000 for the
population of the Federal
District/Mexico City
– A total population of about
20,000,000
– Approx 30% of the estimated 180,000
HIV patients in the country are in the
Mexico City Metropolitan area
• Is a multi-specialty Clinic, providing:

Etc.
Focus on Prevention

Educational materials/ Seminars
Condoms: About 1,000,000/year
Tests: around 30,000 / year
Treatment for thousands of regular patients,
inmates, sex workers, and victims of sexual
violence.
CENSIDA
• Is the government agency that oversees
HIV/AIDS care and prevention
• Provides universal access to ART through the
National Health System
• Most infected in Mexico are MSM and Sex
Workers
• Also provides PEP in the Federal District
