Background
• AMS (Advanced metering and control
systems)-regulation adopted in 2011
• To-way communication with all electricty
consumers in Norway within 2019 (2.7 mill.
meters with hourly data)
• Needed a central datahub for metered data
and market processes in the Norwegian
electricity market

Elhub
• Planned to be operational by February 2017
• Objectives:
– Efficient distribution of measurement values
– Cost savings performing tasks that grid companies
otherwise would perform separately
– Simplified business processes, such as switching supplier
– Utilize the technological potential of AMS in relation to
smart solutions and services
– Nordic harmonization of retail markets
– Market neutrality through equal treatment of participants

statistical purposes
• New opportunities: Data from Elhub is
linked to personal-ID number and
organization number for companies.
• Advantages: Reduced responce burden,
improved timeliness, improved quality (?),
• But, no test data from Elhub yet.
