US AIRWAYS Come fly with US Manager, Flight Data Analysis Phoenix, AZ The Manager, Flight Data Analysis is responsible for managing the operation of the Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) Program and oversight of the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Event Reporting, including data analysis and identification of trend data that would justify operational changes to improve flight safety. Responsibilities: • Manage the daily administration, security and operation of the FOQA program • Manage data collection and retrieval, data security and protection, data reduction and analysis, assessment of deviations and trends, corrective actions and feedback, and record retention • Daily administration and oversight of the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) including responding to identified safety events and implementing corrective measures that reduce the opportunity for compromised safety • Develop and maintain historical records of all changes and modifications made to the FOQA event sets, including the reason for those modifications • Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance departments regarding the status, installation, operation, and repair of aircraft recording equipment needed to support the FOQA program • Production of quarterly safety publications distributed to management and employees • Maximize the efficient use of the FOQA and ASAP data • Participate in FOQA Monitoring Team and Steering Committee meetings • Ensure that all reports generated under the FOQA and ASAP programs are factually correct and statistically sound • Represent the Company at industry ASAP/FOQA related meetings Requirements: • Undergraduate degree in an engineering, science, aviation, or related computer field or equivalent experience/training • 5+ years experience at a major air carrier • FOQA, event database, safety, or flight operations experience preferred • Extensive safety management experience with supervisory and leadership abilities preferred • Knowledge of flight science (ATP preferred) • Experience with database operations and management, network and hardware administration and maintenance and/or MS Office software • Software programming background preferred • Highly developed interpersonal skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent public speaker • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, technical, and Regulatory Agency representatives US Airways offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits including worldwide travel privileges, tuition assistance, 401(k), medical benefits and endless opportunities to advance.
