Observe the mushroom using the magnifying glass.
Draw a picture of your mushroom labeling the cap, stalk and gills. (diagram 1)
Record observations of color, smell, size and texture.
Gently separate the cap from the stalk. (follow teacher’s directions)
Draw a picture of the cap with the bottom facing up. (diagram 2)
Take the stalk and try to pull away the strands of hyphae.
Answer the questions that follow.
