Student Affairs Employee of the Month for February is Tyler Jacobs from Recreational Sports A total of 6 different people nominated five individuals within the division for this honor. Three judges from outside the division read the applications and have selected Tyler Jacobs from the Recreational Sports as the February winner of the Student Affairs Employee of the Month! Tyler was nominated by Kimberly Monte and Chelsea Dolly. This is what Kimberly and Chelsea had to say about Tyler, “As a 2nd year GA Tyler Jacobs took on the role of Aquatics Director without being asked while Chelsea was on maternity leave. He managed the daily pool operations during the week and spent his weekends greeting children & parents during Learn To Swim classes, preparing Health and Safety classes and insuring all instructors’ needs were met. He even jumped in (literally) to help with one of the more rambunctious group swim lessons. His focus on safety was evident when he attended staff meetings for intramurals, fitness and facilities to quiz the student employees over the American Red Cross Safety guidelines and by holding 7am lifeguard in-service trainings. During what should have been a day off for Tyler one of the pool windows shattered, he immediately came in to the building to assess the situation. He spent 2 hours cleaning glass out of the pool and deck area without a complaint. He wanted to be sure no one was hurt. Tyler is a fantastic GA, terrific person and loyal Sycamore! “ Tyler was recognized March 10, 2016 for this honor and is now eligible for Employee of the Year which will be awarded in May of 2016. Tyler received a framed certificate and a $25.00 gift card to the ISU Barnes and Noble Bookstore. Congratulations Tyler!
