Meeting Start Time: 12:15 p.m.
A. Officers in Attendance:
1. Larissa Dragu: President
2. Matthew Lawson: Vice President
3. April VanMilligan: Representative
4. Kaitlin Salinas: Representative
5. Jessica Palfi: Representative
6. Azaz Mehmood: Secretary
II.
Constitution Review
A. President Dragu addressed the minor changes added to the already revised
constitution
B. Officers took time to review the changes.
C. Motion was taken to approve the changes
1. Motion Passed
III.
SAFT Discussion
A. President Dragu addressed the past discussion on whether SAFT should merge
with SGA to become one entity
B. Talks have begun with Secretary Mehmood and Director Fulk
C. Proposal was made to wait on the decision until further notice.
1. In exchanges, officers will travel to the different regional campuses
2. Observe other student governments
3. How does the other SAFT organizations work
D. Approval for the proposal was brought to a motion
1. Motion Passed
IV.
Chief of Police
A. IUN Chief of Police wants to meet and be a part of SGA
B. Larissa addressed Matt Lawson to meet with the Chief and set up meeting dates.
Also, Matt Lawson and SGA will be meeting with Dr. Szarletta to combine
efforts to get students involved with Community Service,
C. Official times to be addressed in future meetings.
V.
Old Business
1. Student Advisor Change must be addressed in future meeting
2. Popcorn Fest must be discussed before school starts ( SGA will help office of
Student Activities at representing IUN at the popcorn festival in September of
2013)
3. Treasurer Jacklyn must contact Financial Literacy Office at IU Bloomington
