Brief career history
30 years’ experience in HR including local government, private sector partnerships and latterly HE
sector – all large complex organisations with full range of departments , services and functions.
Joined TUoS as Head of HR Operations May 2014 and have responsibility for the HR delivery services
to faculties and departments delivered via our customer facing HR Ops teams (c 30 staff). Also
involved in and/or leading on corporate development initiatives such as Talent Attraction, Sheffield
Professional (including Awards initiative), technician development project, VC Fellows programme .
More generally experience includes organisational development, HR partnering with the business,
management and leadership development, coaching and mentoring, employee relations and policy
development, procurement and commissioning.

advice, assessing for competence, performance management, case management.

Successful senior/executive recruitment and appointments –planning, membership of senior
selection panels , feedback, commissioning and working with Exec search partners and

Member of HR Exec Team which oversees the University Promotions process , and gives
strategic direction to HR Policy development and initiatives
