– DRUG & ALCOHOL TESTING
All employees in safety-sensitive positions as defined by state and federal law (such as gas employees,
equipment / vehicle operators that require a Commercial Driver's License, public safety, etc.) are subject to
alcohol and drug testing in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) Omnibus
Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991 (P.L. 102-143, Title V) and the Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Act
(49 CFR Part 199). All employees may be subject to drug testing in accordance with the local, state, and
federal laws. Please refer to the City’s drug and alcohol testing policy for more information.
