from the readings and lecture to illustrate the concept
you use to answer the questions. Examples should also
be used to illustrate and support the points and positions
that appear in your answers.
1. Describe and discuss the different forms of social
difference using concepts from lectures and the
readings. Select two forms of social difference (age,
class, gender, ethnicity) and describe the
relationship of each to health, again using examples
from the readings and lectures.
2. Compare and contrast “self care” as it’s conceived in
terms of neo-liberalism and in terms of the popular
sector of health. In each version of self care how
might social differences impact its’ use as a health
care approach? Use examples from readings and the
lectures to illustrate your points.
