CommonSpot Terms Bookmark An anchor tag (<a name="label"></a>) placed on an element within a page allows a link at the top of a page or on another page to lead directly to that location within the page. (Formerly referred to as a Jump Link.) Selecting a folder from it will display a complete subsite listing Container A container is a predefined object containing logic that defines how the layout of a page is to be rendered. Element An element is a predefined object containing logic that defines how content is to be rendered on a page. Properties Information about a page or uploaded document that is not visible in the browser. Properties - Standard Found under Properties in the Page Specific Menu Bar, Standard Properties is used to maintain information about pages such as Title, Title Bar Caption, Description and Keywords. Properties - Custom Found under Properties in the Page Specific Menu Bar, Custom Properties contains settings for display of elements, layouts and page ordering properties. Registered URLs Managed links to popular external Web sites. Formerly referred to as Registered External Links. Rich Text Editor CommonSpot’s built in HTML editor. Subsite Any subsection of your site. Essentially a category of pages, most often associated with navigational areas. Sometimes referred to as a folder. Template Provides a framework for layout and design that pages inherit. Template Hierarchy Templates are built in tiers. Lower level templates inherit properties of higher level templates. This term describes the inheritance sequence of templates. Title The CommonSpot page label used for breadcrumbs, headings and other page features. Very important for search engine optimization. Title Bar Caption The title that is used in a browser’s caption bar and for bookmark/favorites titles. Very important for search engine optimization.
