For example: To work as a member of the School team to develop the new undergraduate chemical engineering degree programme in Singapore. To contribute to teaching of chemical engineering at undergraduate level and specifically to the teaching of transport processes, separation processes, process safety or sustainability. To supervise undergraduate Chemical Engineering design projects and build links with local industry to bring design awareness to students. To participate in the management and administration of the degree programme and all modules within the School, and where appropriate contribute to the development of new initiatives in these areas. To conduct research in the discipline, both independently and as a member of a team, and to publish the outcome of that research in peer reviewed publications. To attract funding for research from a range of sources. To supervise students undertaking postgraduate degrees by research in these same subject areas. Person Specification Knowledge (inc. Qualifications) Essential A Good Honours degree in relevant subject PhD (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject In-depth subject knowledge/expertise in specific area of scholarship Academic teaching qualification Desirable A relevant professional qualification or Masters degree Skills (professional, technical, managerial, practical) Essential High level of analytical and problem-solving capability, with the personal skills, initiative and drive to achieve the solution Ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing The knowledge, ability and expertise to teach the relevant subject at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including large group and small group teaching and project supervision.
