East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania Research and Economic Development ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACROSS THE COLLEGES FACULTY REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS ESU Entrepreneurial Leadership Center East Stroudsburg University received a $191,320 grant from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) to create an Entrepreneurial Leadership Center (ELC) on campus. The grant was awarded from a $1.8M legislative appropriation to support economic development activities on PASSHE campuses. The ELC Grant is being administered at ESU by the Research and Economic Development Division. The College of Business and Management is a partner of the grant. The ELC Grant includes a total of $10,000 for faculty members to infuse entrepreneurship topics and activities into the classroom. The awards will range from $500 to $1000 for individual projects and up to $2,000.for collaboration projects. Awards will be available from March through December 2010. The funding provides ESU with the opportunity to create a robust Entrepreneurial Culture that allows students across all colleges to experience the positive impact of entrepreneurship. Proposal Requirements and Guidelines 1. This RFP is competitive. Faculty across all colleges (Arts and Sciences, Business and Management, Education, Health Sciences and Graduate College) are invited to submit proposals. Departments may submit more than one proposal. Collaboration within and across colleges is encouraged, but not required. 2. Project funds are limited to activities that support entrepreneurship across the colleges. Eligible proposals may include seed money for workshops, speakers, travel, materials and tools to promote an entrepreneurial culture and awareness of entrepreneurial opportunities. 3. The number of grants awarded will be dependent on proposal merit and the availability of funds. 4.
