THE LAW CLUB CONSTITUTION Article I Name: This organization shall be known as the Law Club Article II Purpose: The purpose of this group shall be to serve students interested in the study of law and enrich their knowledge of the legal discipline. Article III Membership: Section One: Membership shall be open to all matriculated undergraduate students who have paid their student activity fee for the current semester. Section Two: Members shall be considered to be active if they attend and/or participate in two-thirds of the clubs of the clubs meetings and activities. Article IV Elections: Section One: Elections shall be held in the fall for four positions: president, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Section Two: Shall be completed within the first three club meetings for the school year. Section Three: All elections of any type shall be decided by a majority vote. Section Four: Terms of office shall be for a period of one year. An officer may be elected to serve as many terms of office as the members of the club see fit to elect them to. Section Five: Officers may be removed by a three-fourths majority vote of club members. All active members must be present in order for said vote to be held. Article V Vacancies Section One: Vacancies shall be filled by a majority vote of the members of the club. Article VI Duties Section One: The President duties: 1. Shall preside over all club meetings 2. Shall call special meetings. 3. Shall have general supervision over the affairs of the club. Section Two: The Vice President duties: 1. Shall assume the duties of the president in case of absence and shall assist the President whenever possible. Section Three: The Secretary duties: 1. Shall keep a record of the proceedings of the club. Section Four: The Treasurer duties: 1. Shall maintain records of the finances of the club. Article VII Advisor: Section One: The faculty advisor shall be chosen by a three-fourths majority vote of the club members. Article VIII Amendments Section One: This constitution may be amended by a two thirds majority vote of the members of the club and if approved by the rules and regulations committee of the Student Government Association.
