Key Decisions (Part 1) (a) Salford Sports Village, Littleton Road, Kersal That the target cost of £673,404 and the guaranteed maximum price of £707,075 in respect of steelwork and relevant sub-structure work at Salford Sports Village, be approved. Malcolm Sykes/ Richard Wynne (b) A5066 Oldfield Road Primary Route Network Resurfacing Scheme (i) That Westshield Limited be appointed to carry out the resurfacing and associated works to the A5066 Oldfield Road (Ordsall Lane to Regent Road), having submitted the lowest tender. Steven Lee (ii) That approval be given to enter into negotiations with Westshield Limited to enable the resurfacing of the A5066 Oldfield Road from Regent Road to Liverpool Street. (iii) That the exception to contractual Standing Order No. 4.1 be authorised. Lead Member Decisions (Part 1) (a) Contract for the Repair of Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA) and Bituminous Carriageways That consideration of this item be deferred to allow for further information to be obtained. Steven Lee (b) Anti-Skid Treatment Programme 2004/2005 (i) That ABS Servicing Limited be appointed to undertake the City Council’s Anti-Skid Treatment Programme for 2004/05. Steven Lee (ii) That a brief report be forwarded to the Chairman containing details of comparative figures to identify whether the work carried out within the anti-skid treatment programme did reduce the accident statistics. 4. Decisions of the Strategic Director of Housing and Planning (a) Land at Adelphi Street and Meadow Road, Salford That the decision of the Strategic Director of Housing and Planning to appoint DTZ Debenham Tie Leung in order to progress negotiations between the City Council and the University of Salford, with regard to the land at Adelphi Street and Meadow Road, Salford, be noted. Richard Wynne (b) Pilot Scheme - Removal of Two Highway Trees Outside Nos. 1 and 5 Grasmere Crescent, Winton, Eccles (i) That the decision of the Strategic Director of Housing and Planning to remove the highway trees fronting nos. 1 and 5 Grasmere Crescent, Winton, Eccles, be noted. That following the Energy Sustainability Conference held on 1 st December, 2004, a draft report be prepared to be forwarded to the Chairman for comments. (c) Climate Change 6. Reports from Outside Bodies (a) Salford Travel Partnership That a brief report be submitted at the next Planning Lead Member Steven Lee Briefing containing details of the issues discussed at the recent meeting of the Salford Travel Partnership. Richard Wynne That subject to (a) a further assessment with regard to the implications of the suggested Trinity Farmers Market, (b) consultation with the PTE and Manchester City Council with regard to a traffic assessment in the area and (c) consultation with Ward Councillors, the scheme be pursued.
