CORPORATE IMPROVEMENT PLAN MONITORING RECOMMENDATIONS : THAT MEMBERS NOTE THE POSITION REGARDS IMPLEMENTATION OF THE IMPROVEMENT PLAN. THAT LEAD MEMBERS HAVE REGARD TO PROGRESS AGAINST THE IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES IN THEIR DISCUSSIONS WITH DIRECTORATES. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY : The full corporate improvement plan was last submitted to cabinet briefing on 24th May 2005. Work has been ongoing through the summer to achieve the targets previously identified. The current monitoring statement attached (8th September 2005) shows that overall the position is extremely positive with the bulk of activities either complete or on target. Of the 91 targets in the plan 77 are on target, 13 are behind target and only one is not on target/not achieved. Those areas behind target are: 2.1 2.7 3.4 4.2 5.4 5.5 6.5 6.6 performance management business continuity planning establishment of BME led Diversity Leadership Forum IT based complaints system preventative strategy for children and young people implementation of procurement coordination team structure achievement of statutory recycling targets assault and wounding and hate crime targets in 2005/08 community safety strategy The activity not ontarget/not achieved is: 6.3 Schools in special measures for over two years Some of the above are relatively small parts of a whole piece of work where the whole activity is progressing well overall.
