REPORT OF THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF URBAN VISION PARTNERSHIP LIMITED TO THE LEAD MEMBER FOR PLANNING ON MONDAY 18TH JULY 2005 TITLE : MAPPING SERVICE AGREEMENT 2005-2009 RECOMMENDATIONS : That the agreement be entered into with Ordnance Survey, Intelligent Addressing and Intermap Technologies for the provision of the Mapping Service Agreement for a period of 4 years from 1st April 2005 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY : The Council has a Mapping Service Agreement with the Ordnance Survey for the provision of various digital mapping products and a licence to reproduce them. The current licence has now expired. A procurement process was undertaken by the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) on behalf of all Councils and as a result a new Mapping Service Agreement has been agreed. The IDeA is a company wholly owned by the Local Government Association As a result of the procurement process the new agreement is with 3 suppliers and will run from the 1st April 2005 for a period of 4 years. The current agreement has expired and a new MSA has been negotiated by the IDeA on behalf of councils nationwide. The IDeA is a company wholly owned by the Local Government Association The MSA is a collective procurement which has been managed by the IDeA on behalf of local government as a whole to provide a framework under which councils, police, fire and national park authorities can obtain best value mapping and related geographic information services. The arrangement is supported by all local authority associations. The IDeA has aimed to ensure maximum financial savings for every authority, as well as ensuring that the licence for the use of services is fit for purpose. As a result of the procurement process the new MSA is between the city council and the following 3 suppliers: Ordnance Survey Intelligent Addressing Ltd Intermap Technologies Inc.
