Learn by Camping: Classes for All Sparkling Summer Bath Salts Description: This bath salt recipe will soothe excited teens on a hot summer’s night. Plus they will love the glittery look. Goals: To learn how to combine salts, soda, colorings, glitter and oils to make a delightful bath product. Objectives: 1. To learn how to measure using kitchen measuring cups. 2. To learn how to add coloring and scents by the drop. 3. To learn how to package the salts in containers. 4. To learn how to decorate the jar or container and make an instruction tag. Materials: 1 cup Epsom salts 1 cup Baking soda 8 drops red food coloring 8 drops yellow food coloring 1/4 cup of fine glitter; red, orange, yellow mix (optional) 15 drops Sweet Orange essential Oil 10 drops Lavender essential Oil 10 drops Sandalwood essential Oil 2 sealable containers or pretty jars Procedure: 1. In a large bowl, mix together salts and baking soda. 2. Add oils, mixing well. 3. Add coloring, start with 6 drops of red and 8 of yellow, and mix well. Continue to add two drops at a time until you are pleased with the color. 4. Stir in glitter. 5. Makes 2- one cup containers. 6. When giving as a gift, add a ribbon or raffia and a label. 7.
