Research Engineering Scientist Assoc V Purpose Purpose: Work with businesses to improve their productivity and realize profitable growth, demonstrating and capturing positive economic impact. Essential Functions Function 1: Improve Operational Efficiency/Effectiveness of Organizations by working with customers to develop well-conceived/managed improvement processes. Duties include advising customers on the latest techniques/best practices regarding internal/external quality, resource utilization, workforce development, innovation, environmental soundness/financial management, strategic/operational planning, continuous improvement, supply chain, new product development/commercialization and measurement systems. 55 % Time Function 2: Develop proposals in response to private and government Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Information (RFI). Duties include assessing operations, understanding the problem, developing leads, assessing opportunities, and following a consultative sales process resulting in a contract that ensures the customer engages TMAC to solve their problem. 15 % Time Function 3: Manage projects to ensure that cost, schedule and performance expectations are met. Duties include forming the project team, defining roles and responsibilities, establishing the schedule, developing the budget and managimg the project to satisfy the customers performance expectations. The project manager is responsible for conducting milestone reviews and completing after actions reports. 15 % Time Function 4: Develop relationships with businesses to build strategic partnerships with customers. Qualifications Required Qualifications: PhD in Engineering or a related field with 2 years of experience in process and product related operations and project management.
