Contract Administrator Purpose Purpose: Assist the Assistant Vice President for Research in the Review and Negotiation of legal documents, including Sponsored Research Agreements, Contracts, etc. Essential Functions Function 1: Negotiate contracts and other agreements with various agencies (state and federal government, private organizations) to achieve agreements satisfactory to all parties. 40 % Time Function 2: Draft entire contracts of various types following state laws and Board of Regents' Rules and Regulations. 30 % Time Function 3: Analyze and help prepare contracts, memoranda, leases, opinions and other documents needed to carry out University objectives. 15 % Time Function 4: Assist with dispute resolutions. Provide guidance and advice regarding technology investment activities. 5 % Time Function 5: Research and provide information concerning legal and policy issues of concern to the Office of Research Administration in areas such as contracts, torts, labor issues, civil procedure, and other matters. 5 % Time Function 6: Advise administration on matters of potential scientific misconduct and compliance with federal and state regulations. 5 % Time Function 7: % Time Function 8: % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other functions as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: J.D. degree (Pending Bar admission is acceptable) or PhD. 3 to 5 years related experience in the practice of law.
