Human Resources Specialist III Purpose Purpose: Responsible for a variety of day-to-day administrative functions ensuring data integrity and the processing and reporting of HR data. Responsible for all Texas State comptroller reporting. Employee works independently under general directions. Handles problems and non-routine situations by determining the approach o Essential Functions Function 1: Confirms accuracy and integrity of all data entered; maintains data in HRIS systems and databases and assures information is available on a timely basis. 30 % Time Function 2: Will perform specialized duties requiring senior human resources skills and knowledge in the administration of the Work Study Program. 25 % Time Function 3: Will perform the duties of Lead HR Specialist for the Records Division; ensuring that personnel records administration is on-going, correct and timely 20 % Time Function 4: Administers and coordinates with Departments and Employees to maintain I-9 Compliance; utilizing system generated letters, initial and reverifications of work authorization documents; department training 15 % Time Function 5: Records Retention and Retrieval; UT EID Coordinator; Open Records Requests; Graduating International Student Process (December, May); Will answer non-routine requests from departments for information of policy interpretation; Special Projects 10 % Time Function 6: % Time Function 7: % Time Function 8: % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other related functions as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field and 2 years of increasingly responsible experience in managing complex human resources programs, organizational development or HR Systems. Preferred Qualifications: Advance knowledge of University Policies and Procedures. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS system software; Strong leadership, analytical and presentation skills, exceptional interpersonal, communication and management skills; strong problem solving skills; high level of organization; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities; ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the University; flexible self-starter. 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in managing complex human resources programs, organizational development or HR Systems.
