Director Purpose Purpose: Manage Institutional construction management services, to include planning and design functions. Essential Functions Function 1: Meet with campus administration to determine construction scope and feasibility. Assess needs to determine project priorities. 20 % Time Function 2: Manage planning and design service.This includes in-house architect, interior designer, and CADD group. It includes management of outside architectural and design firms as needed. 25 % Time Function 3: Manage construction cost estimating process, working with contractors, UTA departments, and Facilities Management project coordinators. Develop project budgets and secure funding. 15 % Time Function 4: Manage project coordinators during construction process. Ensure coordinators have appropriate resources and direction. Prepare and execute construction contracts and change orders. 25 % Time Function 5: Manage Asbestos program and maintain state licensure as an Asbestos Consultant. Provide asbestos awareness and IAQ training to university maintenance personnel as well as contractor personnel. 10 % Time Function 6: Assist facilities management accounting personnel to reconcile all construction project accounts to close out projects. 5 % Time Function 7: % Time Function 8: % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: Process administrative leadership to facilities management personnel as needed, and in the absence of other OFM Directors and AVP. Other functions as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or sciences with 5 years of construction management experience or 10 years of construction management experience to include developing construction budgets and schedules.
