Research Engineering Scientist Associate II Purpose Purpose: Performs supervisory or highly complex environmental work at a professional level in the evaluation, review, selection, adaptation, and modification of standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria. Essential Functions Function 1: Supervises, plans, develops, and coordinates the office and field activities of environmental, technical and administrative staff, including performing a quality assurance role with regards to reports and databases. 40 % Time Function 2: Estimates staffing needs, initiates personnel actions, sets productivity standards and schedules and assigns work to meet completion dates. 10 % Time Function 3: Develops and evaluates training material for Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) and/or Stage II Vapor Recovery technical and administrative staff. Insures the team productivity is sufficient to meet any contractual requirements. 20 % Time Function 4: Usually performs as an office advisor and consultant in technical matters and program functions. Work may result in the development of new or refined techniques, procedures, equipment, processes, products, and/or scientific methods. 10 % Time Function 5: Work may include review of environmental enforcement and compliance reports, compilation of inventories, development and assessment of pollution control strategies, review of site assessments and corrective action reports, ompliance determinations, collection and analysis of data and development of simulation models, reviewing or preparing engineering plans and specifications, evaluations, hardware/software, or reports, performing site or construction inspection and other complex tasks 20 % Time Function 6: % Time Function 7: % Time Function 8: % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other related functions as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Master's degree with no experience required OR Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a relevant field of study and 2 years of full-time applied environmental science experience.
