Web Developer Job Description TITLE: Web Developer JOB CODE: 9862 EFFECTIVE DATE: FLSA STATUS: E EEO6 CODE: 3 = Professional/Non-faculty PURPOSE: Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and managing complex web sites for a department or several departments. Writing advanced web authoring code, designing or integrating graphics and databases for the web sites. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Consults with users to determine web needs and recommends solutions. Designs web page text and visual content, navigational links, and page layout. Writes code using Websphere, HTML, Dynamic HTML, Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Perl or Common Gateway Interface (CGI). Responds to problems or questions regarding website problems and helps to address server performance issues. Creates digital graphics for sites. Researches new methods, techniques, and software for web design. Compiles and analyzes website utilization statistics. Performs related duties as required. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from the supervisory staff of department. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: May supervise technical personnel and support staff. REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in related field. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Two years computer experience including one year of web development experience. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of HTML, HTML editing tools, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Websphere, graphic design software or other web authoring languages. General office conditions.
