Events Manager Job Description TITLE: Events Manager JOB CODE: 8372 EFFECTIVE DATE: FLSA STATUS: E EEO6 CODE: 3 = Professional/Non-faculty PURPOSE: To manage one or more of the event operating services in a full service multipurpose public assembly facility. Responsible for participating with other managers in identifying, specifying, planning and supervising configuration design, user comfort and safety, and/or ticketing services in a full service multi-purpose assembly facility. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In cooperation with other managers, producers of professional entertainment events, sponsors of private facility uses, and others, analyzes producer/sponsor specifications of event objectives and identifies needs for event operating services. Specifies and plans activities for the delivery of configuration design, user comfort and safety, and/or ticketing services. Assigns and supervises tasks directly and through intermediate supervisors. Reviews and coordinates work in progress. Adapts capacities of automated systems to event operating requirements. Initiates acquisitions of goods and services. Designs and implements inventory control systems for event ticket and ticket stock uniforms, equipment, and/or other assets. Designs, implements, supervises and performs controls for cash and other sales receipts. Designs, approves, and submits records and reports. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with performers representatives of other outside agencies, coworkers, subordinates, and university personnel. Performs related duties as required. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from Director, Associate Director, Assistant Director, and/or other managers. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: General and specific supervision to event operating personnel directly and through intermediate supervisors. REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Two years college course work in business administration, facility/sports administration, or other related field. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One year of supervisory experience in a multi-purpose public assembly facility seating over 2,000, or in automated systems operations, ticketing operations, event coordination, project management, or other relevant field. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Equipment and processes utilized in the position's specific areas of responsibility, including automated systems. High degree of accuracy required in maintaining records and reports. Long and varied hours. Work performed on multiple projects concurrently, under pressure of rigid deadlines and time limitations, at night, on weekends, and holidays.
