A two week unit describing the struggles between Parliament and the King of England in the 1600’s. Students will examine revolutionary changes in England that resulted in more power for Parliament. The ensuing conflicts shaped a new kind of government in England. The unit concludes with The Glorious Revolution of England; and ultimately sets the stage for the Enlightenment Thinkers and the basis for Revolution in Colonial America. Essential Questions: Continuation of the essential question from previous unit: How much power should the government have? How did Democracy emerge in England?
