This unit contains a conversation between two senior university students who are
about to graduate and take their first steps into the world.
Learn from their conversation how to tell people about your plans for the future.
這個單元包含一個關於兩個大四學生將要畢業，並且要踏出他們的第一步進入社
會，從他們的對話中學習如如何告訴人們你對未來的計畫。
It is 4:00 PM. Brian and Joe had just finished a class. They are walking together to
go out of the campus.
現在是下午四點Brian和Joe剛下課，他們一起走出校園。
Brian: Hey Joe, do you want to grab a bite together? It’s been a long day.
Brian: 嗨!Joe，你要不要一起吃些東西? 已經過了漫長的一天了。
Joe: Well, mine’s not over yet. I have a job interview in an hour.
Joe: 恩…我今天的工作還沒結束，我一個小時後有一個工作面試。
Brian: Wow, that’s nice. How did you get this interview?
Brian: Wow，那真是太棒了。 你怎麼得到這個面試機會的啊?
Joe: I saw an ad on the internet that Hasegawa Tech has an opening in their
engineering department and thought I’d give it a shot. I sent them my CV and
portfolio last week and got a call about the interview yesterday.
Joe: 我在網路上看到一則廣告說長谷川工業的工程部門有一個空缺，所以我想試
試看。上星期我寄給他們我的履歷表和作品集，而昨天接到電話說要我去面試。
Brian: Good for you. They must have been really impressed with the materials that
you gave them.
Brian: 那不錯啊! 他們一定對你給的資料印象非常深刻。
Joe: Yeah, I guess so. Frankly speaking, I was kind of nervous about it. I don’t
have a lot of entries on my CV since I’m still a student, but the hard work
I’ve been doing for the last three years filled up my portfolio really well.
Maybe that’s where they saw my potential. Or, maybe that reference letter
from Professor Bruce was really good. He also helped me with my portfolio,
you know?
Joe: Yeah，我希望是這樣。老實說我還是很緊張，我並沒有很多很多的資料在我的
履歷表畢竟我還只是個學生，這三年來我把努力工作的事情，填滿在我的作品
集裡，讓他看起來很充實，或許他們就是看完我的作品集認為我有潛力又或者
是教授 Bruce 的推薦信寫的很好，他也幫忙了我的作品集，你知道嗎？
Brian: Yeah, he also helped me with my study plan.
Brian: 對啊，他也幫忙了我的讀書計畫。
Joe: Right, you’ve been talking about studying abroad. How’s that coming along?
Joe: 對了你之前說你要去國外念書，進行的如何了?
Brian: I’ve sent some applications to programs in the U.K. and the States. Some of
them have expressed their interest in my plan, but I haven’t got a solid
answer from any of them yet. It seems like I’ll be swimming through
unknown waters for a while.
Brian: 我已經寄了一些申請表到英國和美國的學校，其中的一些已經表達他們對我
的計畫很有興趣，但是我仍然還沒得到任何一間給的確定回覆，我可能還
會在情況不明的狀況下繼續好一段時間。
Joe:
Joe:
Nah, don’t worry. I’ll sure you’ll be just fine. Oh, there’s the MRT station, I
got to run now. So, I’ll see you tomorrow?
別擔心啦!我相信你一定可以成功的，捷運站要到了我必須先走了，所以我
明天會看到你嗎?
Brian: Yeah, ten o’clock don’t be late. Hey, good luck with the interview!
Brian: 會，10 點別遲到了!祝你面試成功。
Joe: Thanks! Just wait for my good news! Later then!
Joe: 謝謝!等我的好消息吧!之後再聊!
Brian: Bye!
Brian: 掰掰!
