It is 4:00PM. Brian and Joe had just finished a class. They are walking together to go
out the campus

Brian: Hey Joe,do you want to grab a bite together? It’s been a long day.

Joe:
Well,mine’s not over yet. I have a job interview in an hour.

Brain: Wow,that’s nice. How did you get this interview?

Joe:
I saw an ad on the internet that Hasegawa Tech has an opening in their
Engineering department and thought I’d give it a shot. I sent them my CV
and portfolio last week and got a call about the interview yesterday.

Brain:
Good for you. They must have been really impressed with the materials
that you gave them.

Yeah,I guess so. Frankly speaking, I was kind of nervous about it. I don’t
have a lot of entries on my CV since I’m still a student, but the hard work I’ve
been doing for the last three years filled up my portfolio really well.
Maybe that’s where they saw my potential.Or, maybe that reference letter
from Professor Bruce was really good. He also helped me.

Right,you’ve been talking about studying abroad. How’s that coming along?

I’ve sent some applications to programs in the U.K. and the States. Some of
them have expressed their interest in my plan, but I haven’t got a solid answer
from any of them yet. It seems like I’ll be swimming through unknown waters
for a while.

Joe:
