Death to Fascism, Freedom to the People!
The Extradition of Hungarian
War Criminals to Yugoslavia.

In Eastern and Central Europe after World War II, efforts to bring war criminals
before justice became entangled with social and political transformations;
reflected in the treatment and extradition of individuals that Yugoslavia referred
to as ‘Hungarian war criminals.’ The analysis of these procedures not only
provides insights into post-war Hungaro-Yugoslav relations, but also raises issues
weather the concept of “war criminal” can be defined solely in legal terms, or
whether such reconsiderations lead to reasonable accusations of ‘relativism.’
