498c0010 Sam Allegory of the cave In ancient times, people lived in the cave and they did not know how huge and bright in the outside of the cave. If there a volunteer was taken to the outside world, how would that person feel when see everything are not the same in the cave? Yes, it is curiosity. As a proverb goes, “curiosity killed the cat.” From the curiosity, people would try everything they did not know. However, there are some things to discuss. First, in today’s society, we still live in the same style of the ancient cave man. Because everything we know about is come from other people said. Just like the volunteer which got back to the cave and talked about how fantastic and modern outside world is. Although today’s communication is convenient and easy to get, there still have people live in the forest and cave. And here is another question, how to leave the cave? If I were the people in the cave and I was used to the living style in the cave, how could it possible to make me leave the cave? To be honest, it is like the feeling I talked about “Curiosity.” I would leave the cave not because I did not like living in the cave but because I want to get more living knowledge of having a good life. But I would be the last one to leave the cave, because I want to hear more things about the outside world which the leaving people said. Finally, everything I heard maybe like the shadows which was magnifying by outside people. I would not totally absorb all the information because to see is to believe. Nowadays, reality proof is quite important. People may believe what they see and what they hear by more and more people’s words. If there only one volunteer leave the cave, it is quite few people may believe his/her words. In contrary, they may choose to follow the more and more reality proofs because it seems like a powerful persuasion.
