Sometimes we will observe our brother’s or sister’s action when they in front of parent. We will
think why; why they have to act like that, why I couldn’t understand their attitude. You will usually
find the answer when you grow up. In this story, we want to discuss two questions. Did Jimmy’s older
brother really become brave, or he just didn’t want to face all happened? Someone guess that he was
really become mature, but somebody said he just wanted to run away from this mess. Another
important question is why did jimmy and jimmy’s older brother act as different ways? We guess the
reason is related to Age.
When police came their home for taking away Jimmy’s brother and Jimmy from their mom,
Jimmy’s brother did not cry. When their mom said that she would be gone for a long time and they
would not be able to see her after this, Jimmy’s brother was so calm. He even promised his mom that
he would be okay. He must aware of that they were going to lose mom. After their mom left them, he
and Jimmy could depend on no one but each other.
We conjectured that Jimmy’s brother thought he was the older brother. Older brother should be brave,
independent, and responsible.
When you grow up, you will change your mind, and thinking should become more mature, so
does Jimmy’s brother. Jimmy is only eight years old. In this age, he should be protected and had a lot of
love by parents. However, his mother leave, who is his parent only. Jimmy cannot rely on anyone so
that he may not feel sense of security. On the other hand, does Jimmy’ brother really doesn’t care about
his mother? Actually, crying cannot change anything, didn’t cry cannot really express your emotion
also. “To be brave” which word his mother tell him, because he is brother, he must be a good example
to Jimmy is his responsibility. So if he cries and scares as Jimmy, who can gives Jimmy sense of
security? Because he is Jimmy’s brother.
From little kids to college students, we experienced many things. Sometimes we confused at that
moment, but realize when we grow up. The ancients said, experience is mother of wisdom, it make
sense. Everybody might go through similar issues. Regardless of single parents’ family or brotherhood,
these all make us learn a lesson.
