Wendy: I’m excited.
Peter: Yes, we bought a few interesting books.
Mr. Martin: You all like reading, right? Do you like other
activities?
Peter: I like to play computer games.
Wendy: I love dancing.
Sam: I play basketball a lot. But sometimes I play
baseball or go fishing.
Mr. Martin: Baseball? I like baseball, too.
Peter: Sam’s father is a famous coach and his team won
many games.
Mr. Martin: Wow! Can I see his team play?
Sam: Sure, I’ll talk to him.

Students in Taiwan have a lot of schoolwork. They
don’t have much free time for their favorite activities.
Making good use of their free time is important. But
some of them don’t use it well, so they are still bored.
Sam uses his free time well. He is interested in sports,
so he spends half of his free time on basketball.
Sometimes, he plays baseball or goes fishing at the river
with parents. Sometimes, he goes to the movies with his
friends. At night, he often listens to music on the radio.
He also uses a little time to read stories before he goes to
bed.
Sam is busy, but he enjoys every moment of his life.
How do you spend your free time? Do you use it wisely?
